Resignation of CAO Dylan Heide

Press Statement – Tuesday, June 19th, 2018

Shelburne NS The Town of Shelburne is saying goodbye to Chief Administrative Officer Dylan Heide after more than six years. CAO Heide is leaving the Town of Shelburne to assume the role of CAO with the Town of Mahone Bay, beginning August 13th, 2018.

“I’ve had a tremendous experience in Shelburne,” says Heide, “we’ve had more than our share of challenges over the years but this Town has a dedicated Council supported by the best staff team I've had the pleasure to work with, and I know they are prepared for whatever challenges may lie ahead.”

“It is with the greatest regret that I received Dylan’s resignation,” says Mayor Mattatall, “over the past 6 years, it has been my great pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with Dylan.  During this time he has consistently demonstrated his dedication and commitment to our town, always encouraging council to think ahead and be innovative in our approach to providing good governance in the best interest of our residents.”

“Dylan has been instrumental and consistent in providing crucial and supportive direction to council that has undoubtedly materialized in Shelburne becoming the only community in Southwestern Nova Scotia that saw growth in our population during the last census. It has been our great fortune to have had access to his knowledge, resolve and respect for the town and its residents during his employment here.”

“Mahone Bay is so extremely fortunate to have this exceptionally intelligent individual as part of their team and it is most definitely our loss,” Mayor Mattatall added, in conclusion, “I sincerely wish Dylan and his wife Ashley all the best in their future and as well, wish to thank Dylan for offering to continue to serve on our Asset Management Committee,  a project that he initiated and will be a model for all of Nova Scotia as we move into the future.”

The Town Council received the news at their regular meeting on Monday evening (June 18th) and say they plan to advertise the position by the end of the week.
