New Stop Sign

In response to safety concerns, the Town of Shelburne is in the process of making improvements to our traffic signage. A first step is the installation of new stop signs on John Street at the intersection with Hammond Street, which are now in place. These new stop signs institute a pattern of alternating stops on John Street (stops every second block), to reduce traffic speed. The intention is to remove the existing stop signs on Hammond, returning the intersection to a two-way stop, however to allow motorists time to adjust to the change the intersection will remain a four-way stop in the short-term.
