A development permit is required for any citizen of the Town who wants to erect, construct, alter, replace, relocate or add to any structure in the Town of Shelburne.

Application Forms & Process:
You can get an application form from the Town Office, or online (see below for Application for Development Permit). Complete the form with the necessary documents required for the project applied for. The application fee must accompany this form.
Time limits for Development Permit Application:
As per the Municipal Government Act, within fourteen days after receiving an application for a development permit the development officer shall determine if an application is incomplete, and where the application is incomplete, notify the applicant in writing advising what is required to complete the application. Within thirty days after receiving a completed application for a development permit, the development officer shall grant the development permit or inform the applicant of the reasons for not granting the permit.
Expiry & Renewal:
An approved development permit is valid for 12 months from the date it is issued.
